Compound tubuloacinar gland

A lobule of a compound tubuloacinar gland displays both elongated, mucus-secreting tubules and spherical, serous-secreting acini.  Intralobular ducts are also visible.  This gland is the submandibular (submaxillary) salivary gland and the saliva it secretes contains both mucus and serous components.  400x
