Nephron in the cortex

Components of the nephron in the convoluted portions of the cortex include Bowman’s capsule (surrounding the glomerulus), proximal convoluted tubule and distal convoluted tubule.  The portions of the nephron in the medullary ray are the proximal straight tubule (descending thick limb of the loop of Henle) and the distal straight tubule (ascending thick limb of the loop of Henle).  200x
