Dermis

The dermis of skin consists of two layers, a thin papillary layer immediately beneath the epidermis and a thick reticular layer.  The hypodermis lies beneath the skin but is not part of it.  Sweat glands, their ducts, blood vessels and sensory receptors (Pacinian corpuscles), are located deep in the dermis or in the adjacent hypodermis.  Thick skin  40x
