Testis overview
The same layers surround the testis proper in the adult (seen here) that were identified in the immature testis. Growth of the seminiferous tubules during puberty flattens the mediastinum into a wedge positioned at the posterior edge of the testis. Sperm are produced in the seminiferous tubules and moved into the rete testis in the mediastinum by peristaltic contractions along the length of the seminiferous tubules. 10x, 100x
