Submandibular gland

The submandibular gland possesses both serous acini and mucous tubules.  The tubules are pale staining and the cells secrete mucus.  Acini stain more intensely because of the numerous secretory granules they contain.  An intercalated duct with a simple cuboidal epithelium and a striated duct with a simple columnar epithelium are present.  200x
