Elastic artery

Vasa vasorum are small blood vessels (arterioles, capillaries, and venules) in the tunica media of larger blood vessels. Vasa vasorum are most obvious in the tunica adventitia, but are also present in the outer tunica media. These vessels supply the outer regions of the tunica media. The tunica intima and inner tunica media are supplied by diffusion from the lumen of the vessel. 400x
