Aggregated lymphoid nodules: Peyer's patch
Lymphoid nodules also occur in aggregations, such as Peyer’s patches. Although located throughout the small intestine, Peyer’s patches are regularly found in the ileum. A single Peyer’s patch contains clusters of secondary nodules surrounded by diffuse lymphoid tissue. A dome is typically seen on the luminal side of the patch. 40x
