Primary lymphoid nodule
Primary lymphoid nodules are clusters of lymphoid cells located as solitary nodules in the lamina propria of tubular organs (as seen here) and also as aggregates in tonsils and Peyer’s patches. Primary nodules are present also in the cortex of lymph nodes and splenic white pulp. Primary nodules are seeded by B lymphocytes and, therefore, are termed B-dependent areas. 400x
