Secretory granules

A mast cell is shown in loose connective tissue.  The centrally located, round nucleus is surrounded by numerous secretory granules, containing histamine, heparin and other substances.  Mast cells do not display polarity of their granules because the granules are located throughout the cytoplasm.  Bundles of collagen fibrils are also visible.  10,000x
