Intratesticular ducts

The rete testis is a network of anastomosing channels receiving sperm from the straight portions of the seminiferous tubules. The rete is lined by a simple cuboidal epithelium, each cell possessing microvilli and a single cilium. The cilia are not visible in this image. Rete channels exit from the mediastinum, pass through tunica albuginea and connect with efferent ducts in the head of the epididymis. 800x
