Venule

Various examples of venules and arterioles are shown in these images. In the left panel, note that small venules are composed of a tunica intima and a thin tunica adventitia of connective tissue. A tunica media is absent. Arterioles have a tunica intima, a single layer of smooth muscle forming the tunica media, and a thin tunica adventitia.
